Vipava, the wine country with the largest variety of indigenous wine varieties in Slovenia. Among the latter, Rebula is the one variety that has been written in big letters throughout history on this land. Over the years, the share of Rebula in Vipava has sometimes exceeded half of all Vipava vineyards.
Today, Rebula is grown in two vineyards, Vogersko Mali Dunaj and Šmihel Livišče. From the top of the latter vineyard (160-180m above sea level), where the soil is quite sloppy, comes the main part of Batič Rebula Classic. Rebula Classic is harvested in mid-September to preserve freshness. Maturation in inox tanks on fine lees follows. It is bottled at the beginning of the first spring after harvest.
