Livišče Merlot

Livišče

For two centuries, the Livišče wine-growing area was owned by the noble De Zuccato family. During the time of Yugoslavia, the cooperative wineries, then a symbol of the state, acquired most of the best wine-growing land in our region through the nationalisation of agricultural land. This was also the case with the Livišče vineyard. With the independence of Slovenia, however, history has changed and today Livišče is the signature wine of Batič. The clayey soil at the foot of the Lijak paragliding airstrip, the south and south-west exposure of the vineyard and the extremely well ventilated microclimate led the ancestors to choose the Merlot variety. We are also engaged in farming with the same belief in this location ourselves. Merlot, the Vipava variety on this land is often the signature of our Angel wines.
