ブドウ園

週六日間、夜明けから夕暮れまでブドウ畑で働くのが私達の日常です。真夏のブドウ畑では、日中の気温が摂氏35度を超えることもあります。 1ヘクタールあたり12,000本を植える我が家のブドウ畑では、ブドウの列の間隔は、きっかり1.2 mにし、ブドウの木の高さは70cm、ブドウの房を 支えるワイヤーの高さは約46cmと決めています。ブドウの背丈を大変低くしているために、手入れをするには身をかがめなければなりません。我 が家のブドウ畑で働く仲間にとって、背中や腰の痛みはもはや日常のことになってしまいました。 こうして皆と一緒にブドウ畑で働くようになって、私はそれまで知らなかったささやかな日々の喜びに気付き始めました。 例えば、夏の暑さと格闘しながら働く仲間達は、その日の仕事が終わると、いつも口笛を吹いたり歌ったりしながら、楽しそうに帰っていくのです。 そのような光景を目にすると私の心は喜びで満たされます。 彼らの歌声は、風が運ぶ最も心地よい音色なのです。

Batič wines are a creation of our own grapes, grown according to the principles of biodynamic farming (demeter). 220,000 vines are cultivated on 43 hectares of vineyards and approximately 75,000 litres of wine is produced per year.

In 1998, we revived the Vipava practice of planting vineyards with a row spacing of 1.2 m, which had been completely abandoned in Vipava due to the high costs of cultivation. The high density of vines per hectare makes survival conditions extreme. Such vines tend to slow down the lush vegetation. This is when the vine offers its essence.

In such conditions, the vines are able to develop a deeper root system to absorb nutrients and moisture from the soil. Because of the depth of the roots, harvests maintain similar qualities even in seasons of excessive rainfall or extreme drought.

In order to offer you pure, vital wines to make a toast to good health, we grow twenty varieties of vines, resistant to fungal diseases in the vineyards of Brajda, Brce and Hrastov hill Trikotnik. They are cultivated completely without spraying.

The Batič Brajda vineyard is the first vineyard of resistant grape varieties planted in Slovenia.
