NOSE: Harmonious scents of very ripe citrus fruits accompanied with wood smoke scent, all nicely intertwined in the wine's structure.
If the bottle is opened at least two hours before serving, herbal essences prevail.
TASTE: Pleasant, warm and harmonious in the mouth, Batič Pinot Gris 06 rewards with an artful display of freshness and full taste. Intense extract and mineral taste.
The warmth of the wine is nicely incorporated into the structure. The typical character of Pinot Gris is present, the finish is long.

HARVESTING TECHNOLOGY:
In the summer, grape reduction was carried out. Grapes were harvested manually in mid-September, in the afternoons – to avoid the morning dew.
Wine fermented with the grapes' own yeast and matured for one year in Slovenian oak barrels. Only domestic oak wood is used to ensure harmony between wood structure and wine.
Oaks that grow near the Batič vineyards are subject to a very similar climate as the vines. This harmony between wine and oak-barrel wood structure strongly contributes to Batič wines' renowned elegance.
The wine was racked and bottled in the time of the old moon.

A full-bodied, elegant and complex wine, goes well with cheeses (from young to mouldy cheeses).
Smoked fish (salmon, bass), exotic risottos and shrimps make up interesting pairings. Undoubtedly, Pinot Gris 06 is an exceptional wine for special moments.
One must take time to enjoy the wine. After opening a bottle, a half-an-hour or hour wait can be very rewarding, giving the wine some time to become alive.
